If Waterfall Cleaners is your Saturday morning stop, or the place your work shirts have been going for years, we have news to share. On July 31, 2026, both Waterfall locations become Today Cleaners.
We are the Newman family, and we have been cleaning Bakersfield’s clothes since 1949. We acquired Waterfall Cleaners in August 2025 and spent the past year working alongside your stores, your team, and you before making this move.
Same team, same delivery
The team you know at your Waterfall location is not going anywhere. Delivery continues exactly as it runs now, and we are investing behind the scenes to make it more convenient at the counter and at your front door.
More locations
Your store is now part of nine Today Cleaners locations across Bakersfield. One near work, one near home, and one in most places in between. Your garments stay at the store where you drop them off, so you always pick up where you left off.
A few things come with that:
- Same-day service for the weeks that get away from you.
- 24-hour drop boxes for the days that run long.
- The GreenEarth Cleaning System, which is odorless, gentler on fabrics, and better for whites and colors. No other cleaner in Bakersfield offers it.
- Gown preservation and specialty garment care, for the pieces you only trust to one person.
One price list
On July 31, your location moves to the same pricing we offer at every Today Cleaners location. As part of that change, the Happy Hour discount ends on that date. What replaces it is simpler: consistent, transparent pricing every hour of every day.
The pricing update allows us to keep investing in the technology and equipment behind our service, and to keep offering strong benefits to every member of our team. Keeping prices stable is a priority for us, and a price increase is always one of the last steps we take.
Same hours
Your location keeps its current hours. If anything shifts while we complete our system conversion in August, we will post it ahead of time.
A new look
Over the coming months, your store takes on the Today Cleaners look. New signage, a refreshed storefront, and a few improvements you will notice the minute you walk in.
Behind the scenes
This year, we are upgrading the whole company. New systems track every garment from the moment you hand it over to the moment it goes back in your hands, and our plants are getting new equipment and automation behind that.
Here is how Matthew Newman, our Director of Operations, puts it: “My great-grandfather started this business here in 1949, and whether the sign said Sparkle Cleaners, the family’s original retail name, or Today Cleaners, it’s been the same family behind the counter.
